Welcome to PhilOCA-Holcim Data Portal
The Philippine Ocean Acidification (PhilOCA) database serves as a centralized hub for pH and carbonate chemistry data, supporting national and regional monitoring efforts.

How to Submit Data
Our work follows the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Indicator 14.3.1 methodology, which provides guidance on how to observe ocean acidification—what parameters to measure, how to measure them, and best practices recognized by the global ocean acidification community.
This methodology also outlines how to prepare and submit data to the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC), ensuring that contributions meet quality standards and can be used in global and regional ocean acidification assessments.
The official methodology and supporting resources can be accessed here:

Practical Best Practices for Ocean Acidification Monitoring
Practical methodologies and operating procedures for ocean acidification researchers, especially users of the GOA-ON in a Box ocean acidification monitoring kit.
This Guidebook is a compilation and layout of photos of cryptic organisms collected using artificial reef structures called ARMS (Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures) deployed at 5 NIPAS (National Integrated Protected Area Systems) sites in the Philippines.
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
The IPCC publishes Assessment Reports on climate change, its causes, impacts, and responses, as well as Special Reports on specific topics and Methodology Reports with guidelines for greenhouse gas inventories.
The SDG 14.3.1 Data Portal supports submitting, validating, storing, and sharing ocean acidification data for the SDG 14.3.1 indicator on average marine acidity (pH) at representative sampling stations.
